Under the bonnet - Fixture by date

This series was actually inspired by some bits and pieces our community ask us in terms of product enhancements that already exist in our network.

One is especially in regard to tournaments, and some leagues that have asked about showing their fixture by date, as opposed to by round.

No problem - go to 'Customise your website > Other configuration' and choose to display by date - either by a drop down menu, or rolling (meaning, times are displayed in the normal tabbed menu format).

Choose your display type

In this instance, I've chosen by date in a drop menu.

Date - by drop down menu
So, there we are - functionality that exists and can be found through our wiki (support.sportingpulse.com); but sometimes gets missed unless you know where to look!
We'll look to continually improve the way we bring you this info within the Website CMS...

Cheers all

Under the bonnet for SportingPulse administrators

For sports administrators, SportingPulse software is very deep.  It does everything from member management through to clearances, finals eligibility, tribunal on top of all the stats that users see.

Also, from a front end perspective, there are stacks of ways to display your data for your users.  With the turnover of sports administrators (well, over the period of the last 11 years that we've been around), thought it would be good provide weekly updates with little snippets of gold you may have missed.

Am going to call this series 'Under the Bonnet' (unless I get a better suggestion in the next week!)  You'll see a label for each of these posts, meaning, you'll be able to read them all as a series into the future.

More website design upgrades

We're rolling out more design updates in the next couple of days; this release is focused on our Detailed Results screens.

It currently looks like this:

But, in a few days, will change to this layout, incorporating a new '3 tab' design.

There are a few things to take note of, that we hope you like
  1. We now have 3 tabs within the Detailed Results page, housing Detailed Results(!), Selected Teams and Comments (where activated by sports).
  2. We've also added links to all the other games in the round so you can quickly catch up on all the results for the round and check all the stats with a more simple navigation focus.
  3. Below is a view of the 'Selected Teams' tab - with some more info...
Selected Teams (AFL only):

Thanks to NAB, the Selected Teams infrastructure for AFL has been given a major upgrade.  We've added the ability to see selected teams side-by-side, as well as on a team-by-team basis.  We've also moved the teams into a more traditional '18-person' line-up, to accomodate a better view of match-ups.  Again, you're able now to quickly scroll between games to see all the gameday info easily.

It is a major step forward for sport to have NAB on board.  Like our other partners, they are funding significant upgrades to the network through sponsorship and keeping all the leading tools we supply to sport cost-free.

With these partners on board, we can also ramp up the amount of data we supply to users and start to present stats in a more flexible, and ultimately, a more fun environment.

We appreciate your input to our product upgrades and also want to keep talking through your view of how we are integrating commercial partners through the network.  Our goals are still to bring grassroots sport elite sports technology and to provide a new funding stream to sport

...and thanks to your support, SportingPulse has just topped over 2 million unique viewers in 2 consecutive months!
