Need your clubroom renovated?

Sometimes here at the ‘Pulse we get to do some fun stuff.

Last week we quietly launched a brand new competition across the SportingPulse AFL, Rugby League and Basketball Networks.

It’s called Bailey’s Top of the Ladder.

It’s unbelievably simple.

And, it might just earn your club a $5000 clubroom
makeover, courtesy of Bailey’s ladders who are the latest partner of the SportingPulse network.

So here’s how it works.

On every player page across the network, we’ve added a “vote for” button. Anyone browsing your website can go to one of these players and vote for their favourite player at your club.

So how does this work for you?

Quite simply, the smart thing for your club to do is get behind the campaign. Get everyone in your club voting for your players. Get them to vote multiple times! If one of your players ends up top of the ladder on October 31, then your clubroom gets the Bailey’s ladder makeover.

On top of that, individuals who vote get a chance to win a monthly prize.
So our top three strategies for spreading the word are:
  • Share players’ pages on facebook. Go to a player’s page from your club and share it on your official facebook page – encouraging all your facebook friends to vote for this player.
  • Link to the players page in your club newsletter.
  • Promote the players page on your club website.
This is an awesome and incredibly simple promotion. Make sure you and your fans get involved!

Want to track your 2011 registration payments?

We have had a lot of enquires recently from users asking about reporting on specific payments.

This has been an ongoing issue with the way Products and Seasons are set up in our system, but in order to make this easier for administrators we’ve added a small piece of functionality into the system which should help.

To cut a long story short, a product can now be linked to a season for the purposes of reporting.

Previously if you ran a member report and selected ‘Season’ equals ‘2011’ (under the area section), as well as selecting ‘Transaction Status’ and ‘Product’ (both under the Transaction area), then this would includes ALL products that those 2011 members have purchased – i.e. not just 2011 products.

As such, we’ve created an optional new field within the Transactions area called ‘Product Reporting Season’, which, using the above example, if you also set this field to 2011 then you should get the desired results for your report.

The simplest report now can be run using the following criteria selected:
  • First Name (under Personal Details)
  • Family Name (Personal Details)
  • Season equals 2011 (Seasons)
  • Product Reporting Season equals 2011 (Transaction)
  • Transaction Status (Transaction)

We think this will make life a whole lot easier for administrators, and is a really easy way to see who has paid for 2011 Registration Products (e.g. club fees).

Let us know what you think!

Import your fixtures straight from Excel

Competition administrators can now import their fixtures directly into Sportzware Online Membership (SWM), thanks to a small enhancement we launched recently.

This new functionality will allow administrators to devise and create their entire fixture offline using Microsoft Excel, then simply import the fixture into the system - potentially saving significant amounts of time, particularly for leagues or associations with large competitions.

Note: For the Importer to work properly, the data entered into the template must conform to the requirements of the template, otherwise the data will not be imported correctly.

We know that setting up competitions is typically done in the lead-up to a season, which tends to coincide with being a very busy time for associations, leagues and clubs - so we hope this enhancement will have the desired effect of helping to save some valuable time when setting up future competitions.
