While the first phase was mainly about improving the website experience for users of these websites (i.e. layout, content and colours), the second phase revolves around making things more user-friendly and efficient friendly for website administrators.
Some of the changes you will see include:
- New right-hand column widgets:
- Major Sponsor Widget to sit above island advertisement.
- Social Media Widget connecting your club’s Facebook and Twitter accounts.
- Photo Gallery Widget featuring the latest photos uploaded to your site.
- A new Site Admin Checklist to keep you informed on the status of your site, and what information you still need to update.
- Domain Name assignment – the ability to automatically assign a sportingpulse.net subdomain to your site (e.g. yourclubname.sportingpulse.net)

We’ll keep you updated about these changes through this blog, and as usual if you have any feedback, please feel free to post a reply below or contact us at websites@sportingpulse.com.

Will the domain names come with email addresses that can be linked to the domain name itself?
ReplyDeleteHi there, we can't offer email addresses on the subdomain, as it still resides under the @sportingpulse.net domain.
ReplyDeleteso, if you need emails attached to a domain, you'd have to buy the domain name, which would generaly come with an offer of 'x' email addresses; as opposed to using this free domain option.
cheers, Andrew
Im the admin of the Tasmanian Rugby League website and I have had difficulty downloading the Tables/Ladder. I tried doing this through sportzware but had trouble with the password. Will there be an easier way to have the ladder downloaded to the site?
ReplyDeletePerhaps I have overlooked the solution, but has the issue whereby there is no option to change the colour of hyperlinks been addressed? At present when reading News Items etc there is no way for the reader to know that there is a hyperlink included in the text that they are reading (unless they happen to hover over the text). Obviously solutions such as underlining the hyperlink would make the link more obvious, but this is not as convenient as the previous functionality.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
John
Hi Mick,
ReplyDeleteThis should be a straightforward process. Your best bet is to email support@sportingpulse.com, leaving your contact number, or statement of the issue.
Sorry I can't be of more help here.
Any idea when the domain name assignment function will be activated?
ReplyDeleteg'day - we expect these to be live in the next 10 days.
ReplyDeletecheers, andrew
Hello - it it possible to change the size of the widget boxes? eg our notice board or our club sponsors box. With the new advertising boxes pushing our own wdget boxes down the page we would like to decrease the size so you can at least see a bit more of the info without scrolling down?
ReplyDeleteThanks Joanne

ReplyDeleteHow about linking Video in. We have a game videoed each week along with Television show. Would like to publish these
Hi - in regard to changing size of widget boxes, the 'regular' sponsors box depth is determined by the size of the images you upload.
ReplyDeleteHowever, we have just released a 'premium sponsor' widget that you can read about here...

This widget sites above website advertising, however, it is only 100px high so we can still show an ad 'above the fold' on a page.
Cheers, Andrew
Hey Andrew,
ReplyDeleteWe have been able to embed video into websites in the past. Give our support crew a yell (support@sportingpulse.com), as we will be able to help you here.
Cheers
