Simply, on Monday, 22nd November, you will have to replicate the changes you have made to your test environment to the live site.
The test sites are a snapshot of your live sites that were taken on Friday, 12th November. As such, your latest news items and results will not show within the test environment.
We suggest 2 things to make your transition easier on the 22nd.
- Plan you menu structure within excel - and try to contain top menus to between 8-10 items. The menu is based on text characters, not the number of menu items, so shortening names of menu items will mean you can have more items (if that's important)
- Make a note of your preferred colour scheme. Whilst this will become simpler under the new colour layouts, doing the background work now and making a note of your changes will ensure minimal disruption to your site on Monday, 22nd November.

Hi
ReplyDeleteIn the advanced settting for colour and font. The instructions say choose from options below and click update to save the selection, however on the test version of the site there is no update button on that page?
I've just been checking the new test site, but I already have some issues with it - primarily your font size! It's WAY to small in too many places - myCommunity, Fixtures and Ladders, News Headlines in the sidebar. I have excellent vision but even I struggle on these pages. You need to increase the font size or allow us to do it.
ReplyDeleteThe font heading for Archived News Items is too small (I don't think you've made it a heading tag yet)
The News Headlines in the sidebar should also have bullet points or extra spacing between headlines to make it more user-friendly. And stop making these news items open in a new window!
There's also a problem with the Event Calendar - when I click on an event to view the whole item, the font size becomes huge and italic... then it affects the size of the News Headlines in the sidebar.
Hi Andrew, "Display the section name as a title" = "No" in the Widget Manager doies not seem to be working. Also the Notice Board does not have this option. Can these please ne fixed. Thanks, Stephen Stewart AFL Vic
ReplyDeleteHi anon,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the constructive feedback - we are looking how the design manifests on the test site in regard to font sizes and there will be a change or 2 before Monday.
Also, the layout of the 'more' and 'archive' can be improved.
Generally speaking, news headlines can go to external sites, which is why they open in a new window - email websites@sportingpulse.com if you have a specific issue with your site and we'[ll get it checked out.
Thanks again.
Hi Stephen,
ReplyDeleteWe'll look into this now - thanks for the feedback.
Andrew
can you change the default image size in the header (to the left of the header image where the club logo displays) to more completely fill the available space? the resizing makes the club logo look odd.
ReplyDeleteHi there - can you send a link to your website to websites@sportingpulse.com and we'll take a look. Obviously, you won't be the only person in this position, so we'll see if we have a solution for you here.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Andrew
