Changing the way you capture Statistics

The latest significant and exciting update to our SportingPulse Competitions platform is the way the system handles Statistics. It is a complete reform of the way Player and Competition statistics are configured and in short provides a huge amount of flexibility to how individual Associations record and collate player statistics. Basically this means as an Association you can now customise what player statistics are recorded and how they display in the database and on your website.

What are the changes?

1. Career Stats For Your League/Association

This will allow you to set what statistics you wish to display for your members over the course of their career.

What does this mean?

So if, for example you wish to record and collate how many games your members have played over the course of their career and perhaps how many red cards they’ve received, a Player Career template can be set up and customised to include the statistics you wish to track.

2. Competition Stats

This will allow you to define the statistics that are recorded for all players within a competition and will give you the ability to easily view the statistics for a player within that competition.

What does this mean?

If, for example you’d like your Premier or A-Grade competitions to record as many statistics as possible, but perhaps aren’t as keen on recording and displaying those same statistics for the Junior competitions, you can customise player statistics by competition.

3. Round Stats For Your Competitions

This will allow you to customise the statistic categories that are recorded and displayed for each round of a competition.

What does this mean?

If, for example, at the completion of a round of matches you would like to quickly and easily view which players have scored the most goals for a particular competition, you can now set up and customise a Stats template to pull out and display that information.

4. Match Stats For Your Competitions

This will allow you to customise the Match statistic categories that are captured and displayed for the players within your matches.

What does this mean?

For any match within a particular competition if you do not wish to have your players Red Card and Yellow Card details entered in for example, you can customise this. The statistics that are captured for players within your matches and then displayed on your website can now be fully customised at the Association level.

5. Team Match Stats

This will allow you to customise the Match statistic categories that are captured and displayed for your teams.

What does this mean?

For any match within a particular competition if you do not wish to have a Teams Red Card and Yellow Card details entered in for example, you can customise this. The statistics that are captured for teams then displayed on your website can now be fully customised at the Association level.

Further system developments will become available with the Stats Profiles in the coming weeks with the release of the new Online Results system. The Match Stats and Team Match Stats profiles that you configure will (once the new Online Results system is released) control the fields that are displayed in the Results Entry and Player Stats Entry pages.

This is a considerable change from how statistics have worked previously in the system so if you have any further queries on how the new Stats Profiles work or need any help setting them up; please contact us via our Customer Service Team (support@sportingpulse.com)
